about
Taken from movie “Film d’amore e d’anarchia ovvero: stamattina alle 10, in via dei Fiori,
nella nota casa di tolleranza...” directed by Lina Wertmüller in 1973, this song was set to
music by Maestro Nino Rota, and initially performed by Anna Melato, sister of Mariangela, and
by the ensemble directed by Carlo Savina.
Tunin, a prodigious freckled mask with open wide eyes played by Giancarlo Giannini, is
the ragtag and poetic hero of an anti-fascist struggle, lost in the dialects Babel of a Roman
brotherhood full of prostitutes brothelfilled from all over Italy.
Mariangela Melato plays a memorable Salomè, prostitute lover of an anarchist.
