I owe the discovery of this song to director Tony Gatlif. Born in ’48 in what was
then French Algeria from a Kabyle father and a Romani mother, he spread
the painful notes of Romani ethnic group all over the world through his films.
This song is included in the soundtrack of GadjoDilo (crazy foreigner), the
history of Parisian Stephane: looking for Nora Luca, a mysterious singer his
dying father (used to) obsessively listen to on an old audiocassette, he finds
himself thrown in a small Romanian village, within Creţuleşti community.
