The caravan moves slowly across the desert / little by little I will reach my family / I wish
the Astrologer told me the reason why my destiny was such a faraway marriage / I’m
going to burn the horoscope that cast me off my loved ones
Traditional song of the Romani community of nomadic shepherds of Rajastan, regarded as
Untouchables until 1950.
Romani people diaspora started precisely here, with their exodus from north-western
India, then gradually moving West, through Middle-East, Anatolia and finally Europe.
This song has a twist at the end, shifting towards Vietnamese traditional music dis-covered
thanks to guitarist Nguyen Le.
